Where do I learn how to flip?
A great way to learn how to flip is by watching our tutorials on YouTube.
Is the Polar Flipper sharp?
No, the Polar Flipper is a completely dull, plastic trainer designed for a safe and enjoyable flipping experience. We recommend the Polar Flipper for all ages as a fun and affordable way to get into the butterfly knife hobby.
How do I maintain my Polar Flipper?
The Polar Flipper requires a T10 and T8 Torx driver for disassembly and maintenance. The pivots may freely spin during disassembly, preventing you from removing the screws. To counter this, you may need a second driver to hold the other side of the screw. To clean your Polar Flipper we recommend using a clean cloth and 70% Isopropyl alcohol. In addition, light surface scratches can be buffed out by gently sanding the scratched area with fine-grit sandpaper.
The screws keep falling out of my Polar Flipper, how do I fix this?
Loctite is a thread-locking adhesive used to secure and prevent screws from loosening while flipping. We recommend following a YouTube tutorial to learn how to apply Loctite to your screws.
My Polar Flipper's nose pin is misaligned. What can I do?
The nose pin's off-centering doesn't affect the trainer's balance; however, we understand it may look slightly off. We recommend using a Mallet and lightly tapping the nose pin through the hole while keeping the flat side of the balisong pressed against the corner of a table or flat object.
My Polar Flipper has handle play/tap! Is this normal?
Due to the flexible nature of the plastic material our Polar Flipper is made from, it is normal to experience handle play and handle tap. Instead, we recommend focusing on the washer tolerances. They should be as tight as possible while allowing the handles to swing freely.
There is black liquid coming out of my Polar Flipper's pivot area. Is this normal?
The Polar Flipper features phosphor bronze washers, which may naturally produce some debris over time. When mixed with lubricating oil, this can form a dark residue around the pivot area. This is completely normal and can be easily cleaned by wiping the surface with a Q-tip or cleaning cloth.
